- Where do the import and export statistics come from?
- Export/Import values are derived from the FAOSTAT Trade Matrix (https://fao.org/faostat) and represent the average quantity in million metric tons (MMT) of product exported per year for the years 2016 through 2020, excluding years where no data is available from FAOSTAT.
- What is the GEOGLAM Crop Monitor Synthesis Map?
- GEOGLAM Crop Monitor synthesis conditions provide a qualitative ranking of the growing conditions of major crop types around the world, based on an international consensus of participants monitoring large-market producers and organizations with food security interests. The crop conditions reported take into account weather, conflicts, delayed planting/harvest, and other factors.
- Cropland maps are provided by the GEOGLAM Crop Monitor and represent the percent cropland per cell. Cropland maps do not differentiate between major crop types or cropping seasons, and should be considered an indicator of major agricultural production areas.
